Raymond Berke’s Inquiry: Collier’s Fabricated Doubt Was Not a Factor
Stuart Collier’s Role is Nowhere to Be Found
In 1990, Darius Guppy orchestrated a staged gem heist as part of an insurance scam against Lloyd’s of London, a scheme driven partly by retribution for the institution’s role in the financial ruin of his family through a failed investment. Peter Risdon, who participated in the heist as the robber and was paid £10,000 for his role, later attempted a fraud of his own. When he was caught, Risdon turned informant for the police in exchange for leniency, triggering a bitter feud between the two men. This feud reached a new high when it became known that Risdon secretly recorded the now-infamous Guppygate phone conversation between Darius Guppy and Boris Johnson in the summer of 1990. At the time, Johnson was a journalist for The Telegraph, not yet the political figure he would later become.
In this private conversation, Guppy sought Johnson’s assistance in obtaining the personal address and phone number of a tabloid journalist working for Murdoch’s press empire—Stuart Collier, the very target of this investigation. The recording, which can be heard here, highlights the extent of the ties between Guppy, Johnson, and Stuart Collier. Through our ongoing Collier Exposed investigation, we also reveal the very sought-after private address and telephone number of Stuart Collier’s hideout in Brockley, London, which can be viewed here.
Relevant segment of the Peter Risdon and Raymond Berke Talk
Raymond Berke recounts what actually raised his suspicions and what he received from the UK regarding the case. Spoiler: there was nothing from our target, Stuart Collier. Even the mysterious Telex from Scotland Yard, which was mentioned, was understood to be a warning that Darius Guppy and Benedict Marsh were prominent figures in high British society, advising caution in the investigation. Contrary to Stuart Collier's claims, there was no suggestion that Guppy should be investigated further.
Raymond Berke, was the New York law enforcement officer in charge of investigating the 1990 jewel heist. Over time, Risdon and Berke became friends, and in this exchange, they discuss the details of the case, with the benefit of hindsight. Nothing on Stuart Collier’s doubt is recounted at all, not even vaguely.
For context, Darius Guppy, through a seemingly anonymous website, has taken great care to dissect every aspect of Peter Risdon’s talk with him. This includes Risdon’s 20th of August 2012 recording, published on his YouTube channel, which can be found here in full. Readers are encouraged to examine the Exhibit 62 page on Guppy’s Nobody Likes A Grass website, which has been partially archived here and within our project’s decentralised file repository here. This page offers a detailed rebuttal from Guppy in response to several points raised during the conversation between Risdon and Berke.
The Murdoch and Stuart Collier Claim

Stuart Collier and his colleagues at Murdoch’s empire face a significant challenge in publicly justifying their journalist’s actions. If they were to admit that Stuart Collier was the subject of a retribution beating, they would also be forced to acknowledge that he had been harassing and snooping around a private young woman, Patricia Holder, with the intent of slandering her and her family. Such an admission would be difficult to defend, as the public’s sympathy would likely fall on Guppy, given the tabloid press’s well-known reputation for intruding on private lives. It is a sentiment that will become more understandable as the findings of the Collier Exposed investigation are made public. Hence their fabricated reasoning that Stuart Collier “must have” been looking into Darius Guppy’s insurance job in New York is their only way to reason with Darius Guppy’s anger towards their hack journo Stuart Collier.
The Murdoch Tabloid Deception
Murdoch’s tabloid journalists, led by Clive Goodman and their “attack dog” Stuart Collier, targeted the wrong man in Darius Guppy. Outraged by Stuart Collier’s prying into the private life of his future wife, Patricia Holder, Guppy sought help from an old Etonian friend: the rising Telegraph journalist Boris Johnson. Johnson, upon Guppy's appeal, was as…
The conversation between Peter Risdon and Raymond Berke serves as a crucial part of this investigation. While the Collier Exposed team does not wish to become embroiled in the personal animosity between Peter Risdon and Darius Guppy, our focus remains squarely on the scandal that thrust Stuart Collier into the public eye: the Guppygate controversy. Murdoch’s team has insisted that Stuart Collier was investigating Darius Guppy in connection with the jewel heist in New York. However, our investigation reveals that Stuart Collier’s true aim was not to expose an insurance fraud scheme, but to create a tabloid slander story involving Guppy’s private life—specifically targeting his fiancée, Patricia Holder. A story that would later be published in 1990 by Stuart Collier’s tabloid fleet street associate, Geoff Sutton, in the Daily Mirror.
The Stuart Collier Hack Story That So Riled Up Darius Guppy
The insights presented in this investigative journal entry are drawn from extensive evidence obtained during the Collier Exposed investigation. This includes Dictaphone recordings, personal notebooks, and loose-leaf files directly linked to our target,
The key takeaway from the discussion between Peter Risdon and Raymond Berke is the glaring omission of any mention of Stuart Collier or any journalist for that matter. In the 35-minute conversation, the name of Stuart Collier is never brought up, raising further critical doubts about the narrative that Stuart Collier and his Murdoch colleagues have sought to promote. Their attempt to frame Stuart Collier as a journalist investigating a criminal case does not hold up when the timeline is understood and the facts are laid bare.
Raymond Berke, now sadly deceased in 2022, offers further insight into the case in another talk published here.
